Antiviral Medication

There is a simple solution to help protect you

Antiviral medication is a drug that you can only get with a prescription from the doctor. In many countries this medication is used routinely to treat the symptoms of seasonal flu. However, here in the UK antiviral medication is not currently available to treat seasonal flu due to the cost.

In a flu pandemic antiviral medication is used to reduce the effect of influenza symptoms and can help to prevent against actually contracting the flu virus. The main use of antiviral drugs will be to reduce the severity of the symptoms and minimise the risk of complications like pneumonia.

The Government and Healthcare Connections use the same tried and tested antiviral drugs

You can be reassured that the medication we are offering as part of the Antiviral Protection Plan is extensively used around the world to treat seasonal flu. It is the same drug as stockpiled by the UK Government as part of their pandemic plan.
